On December 5th, students from the Art Department took a field trip to the New Britain Museum of American Art and had a chance to explore the wonders of Art in their own backyard!

The students had a special treat in viewing the works of Nelson Augustus Moore, a local Kensington Artist, and seeing what the town they live in looked like a few generations ago. They also interacted with Titus Kaphar’s engaging “The Vesper Project” installation,  the “Let Me Quilt One More Day” exhibit that juxtaposes classic with more modern quilt designs, as well as the f.64 photography exhibit featuring artists Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, Willard Van Dyke, Brett Weston, and Edward Weston.

After a wonderful morning at the museum, the students engaged in a fine dining experience at Great Taste Restaurant, right down the road from the museum.

You can see photos of their adventures here.
